Retro Low Fiesta
Hi, I'm Luke and this is my 87' Mk2 Fiesta Popular Plus.
Its an on-going project but its come a long way since I first got it.
I'll try and keep it short as I've had the car 3 years and its changed a lot since then.
The day I got it...
Improved Interior:
The beasty 1.1 engine that came in the car ran, but was rather fecked, so I sourced another low mileage one and cleaned that up a bit before dropping it in.
After replacing the engine:
I had originally lowered it 35mm with spax springs, gas shocks, full set of polybushes, new brakes etc
But I Soon decided that 35mm was not low enough so got some 50mm springs. Then I decided 50mm wasn't enough so did it properly and bought coilovers lol.
Coilovers on:
By this time the bodywork and paintwork was looking a bit sorry for itself and had all sorts of issues. So I took the alloys off and got hold of some Ka steelies with tyres to put on while I got all that sorted out.
Rolling on steelies:
I decided on having a respray and a few panels replaced on it so did most of the prep work before it went away to be sprayed just before christmas. I'm not gonna bore you with all those pics but heres a quick before & after pic:
Pleased with how it came out, I had to get some decent pics of it finished. So I went to a rather cool spot under a bridge not too far away... (Shame all I had was a camera phone but oh well)
And more recently with the alloys back on:
I'll be changing the wheels and getting smaller tyres soon (got hold of some ally cats recently). Once they are on it should be lower again
I 've also got a 1.6 XR2 engine that will be dropped in when i've finished tuning it up and rebuilding it.
But thats as it is for the mo...
Thanks for looking/reading
Any opinions (positive or negative) are welcome

I do like your motor in the flesh.. mmm i should have got more photos of it though the other night - dissapointed in myself
Re: Retro Low Fiesta
I'm not that fussed really, I want my new wheels on then i'll be happier with it and it will look loads better. People might want to take pictures of it more then, atm it doesn't stand out enough I don't think.
oh well, roll on payday

Everyone asks me that lol. Its under a bridge sorta near Dunmow. The A120 goes over it, but you get to it by a turning just off a main road.
You prob have no idea where I'm on about tho, its hard to explain lol
Yea it is a good place for a shoot, been there several times and got fairly good pics, even with camera phones. So could prob get some real decent ones with a DSLR or somethin (:

UPDATE
Finished refurbing the allycats and fitted the new tyres on...
Then I finally put them on the car (:
I think it looks a million times better now. Shows off the paint better too I think.
What do you people think? (:

Re: Retro Low Fiesta
Cheers. Yea its definitely lower cos of the smaller tyres. Might drop the front a bit more this weekend tho, just so I get it sitting exactly how I want it.

UPDATE
As I haven't posted on here in rather a while I thought I'd do an update on my fiesta
I've been building up and collecting parts for a tuned 1.6 engine to go in it, which isn't too far from being ready to drop in. Should be doing that in a month or so's time if all goes according to plan
I've got a colour scheme for the engine and engine parts/engine bay that should look good and stand out quite well, you'll have to wait to see it when the engines in though
In the meantime i've got some better pictures of the car (since last update) its hardly any different but i've dropped the front more and raised the back slightly so it sits better now and has a bit better stance
anyway...pics.
Last pic courtesy of JC Photomedia (https://www.facebook.com/jjcars)
(p.s freshuk, could you sort it out so pictures aren't half chopped off please? )

Re: Retro Low Fiesta
ive tried now dude but when i paste in your url code, the image comes up the same as if you've taken it like that??
try using the lil tools (host an image) above the comments box to insert your pics maybe because most of your images seem to be fine

Re: Retro Low Fiesta
oh right, well I did use that image tool to insert them
It does it with all the pics on this forum for me so it can't be just my pics, Its like the main part of the page isn't wide enough and chops all the pics off on the right hand side. Possibly cos the site is displayed different with google chrome? (what I'm using) I dunno

Re: Retro Low Fiesta
for me all your images are a perfect size other than a couple (im on firefox an ie).. but those ones it looks like you took them on purpose like that because its like looking down one side of the car?
i can edit most of the images that people post up but it depens what they used to post it up with.. when you insert hit the 640x then ok it and use the middle code.. see if that works?
